As of today, the LGI Corporate office is trying to come up with ways around fixing the issues that my mom and numerous others in her community are experiencing. They are now stating that the Certifications that are provided for each home are just Estimates on the statistics listed and that they could be worse.

This means that the tests they have done are not the reality of what the home actually is. This means that your windows and doors may not keep out the amount of dust and dirt that they claim. The amount of heat and cold let in by your windows and sliding doors is not accurate. There is just nothing on your Energy Certifications that is accurate to any degree.

If it is not accurate, then there is no way to guarantee that you are actually purchasing a home that is going to be a home that you will not have to spend potentially tens of thousands of dollars to ensure that it is what you are purchasing. The Colorado Construction Manager was completely condescending and rude and insinuated that I lied about all of the numerous conversations I have had with numerous people throughout their company. I informed him that I have backed up everything via email with the particular parties involved and that didn't make any difference to him. He kept doing it throughout our meeting and I have since let the V.P.

of the Southwest region know that we will no longer allow any type of dialogue with this Manager. I will continue to post here and have now felt it necessary to create a FB page called Don't Buy from LGI to help, as well as recommending all people I have come in contact with to add their concerns here at Pissed Consumer.

I went and looked at their homes for my mom as she needed to move to Colorado for health care. She purchased one of their homes in Firestone, Colorado.

There weren't many issues that weren't taken care of until the windows and Garage doors became a serious problem. The windows bowed in when locked during the over 100 mph winds and dirt covered her floors, window sills, went all over her walls and all over her blinds and drapes. We went through the claims process on the internet and spoke with numerous people all swearing that the issue would be resolved. Even spoke to Rhonda Johnstone who supposedly does all of the ordering and Tom Martinez who worked in the Colorado Corporate office.

Everyone guaranteed that she would be taken care of. They then started ignoring us after their promises to fix the problem. The comment of Mike Enny was that they "Build homes to spec not the expectations of the buyer". Well, when you are told that the windows will keep heat and cold out and that they are weather tight, that is what you expect.

If your specs don't meet what you are claiming, then you shouldn't be saying that. You also shouldn't be claiming that your products are up to spec when they aren't. The specs and certifications that they give on the houses here, don't match what they installed in the houses. We asked who made the windows and no one would tell us.

We found out by chance because one of the other neighbors saw one of the delivery trucks. LGI refused to give us any information. We have now found out that all of her neighbors have experienced the exact same problem only to be ignored and LGI has told us that they are washing their hands of the whole "Window thing". After standing in my mom's kitchen and telling her that what they saw was unacceptable and would be resolved to her satisfaction.

They have now even gone to the extreme by committing fraud and deleting some claims made from their website so that they can claim that nothing was filed. We even found out that the certifications that they include with the homes about the windows are lies. The windows do not meet their "Certifications" as we got copies of her ratings from the window manufacturer and they do not meet or exceed their claims. I also took pictures of my mom's Claims page and can prove that the claims were there.

LGI doesn't care. They have gotten away with it thus far and have apparently been doing this for years. Sad thing is that they have people go though the qualifying and buying processes, learn what their finances are and know that people can't afford to fight a big corporation in the legal arena. They are crooks and no one should ever purchase a home from this company and I hope that if anyone ever considers it, just remember that you will not be taken care of.

You will be lied to. The neighbors and my mother have filed complaints with the state Attorney General's office and are working to find a lawyer that might help us on a Contingent fee basis, but that is not an easy thing to find nowadays. Anyway, please stay away from LGI. They are not reputable, they will not sell you an "Energy Efficient" home, and they will not stand behind their products.

They are deceitful in every respect and their only goal is to hurt the people that buy from them. They don't care who you are, just that they can get away with getting your money and leaving you with more problems than you will know what to do with.

Reason of review: Warranty issue.

Monetary Loss: $12000.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

LGI Homes Pros: Look of the home.

LGI Homes Cons: Being lied to and ignored.

Sorry to hear you are dealing with the same type of problems my mom is having. We have had to hire a Forensic Structural engineer to come in and go through the whole house to file a Notice of Claim against them here.

They don't fix the problems and will string people along until the Warranty period is over.

So sorry you are going through it too. I wish you my best.
