LGI Homes - Brand New LGI home has way too many problems
We moved in 11 April 2014. LOVED our house although there were several things that were mentioned at our punch list that were flat out ignored (still, to this day they are ignored). The entire 2nd story was uneven, creaked all over, and was like walking through a fun...

I used LGI to purchase a home, my credit was pulled 16 times and I gave the $1000 deposit four months ago. I was told to start packing to move in.

I was told the VA had denied me and I could only go FHA. Which required a down payment of 3%.

I refused to pay and had spoke with VA, LGI denied all conversation with me and I have lost my deposit they will not return it. Was told I broke their contract.

We are a retired couple and have purchased several homes over the years. Have you noticed this company does not list their prices? In fact, they don´t list the sq ft either. There is a reason for this. For the FIRST TIME HOME BUYER, they use an old used car salesman...

I rented a home in Denton, Tx which was brand new when I moved in. Now I dont know about other areas, but I will say that the workmanship was very poor.

The concrete driveway did not flow to street which puddled, the sidewalk was severely chipped, and worst of all the grading on the yard was horrible at best. The home I live in is very cheaply made.

We have foundation problems inside and out. Electrical problems. Plumbing problems. Leaks. Had to replace AC unit b/c they put one 1 ton too small for our size home which caused it to overwork and go out. They cut corners and costs every way possible. So much more,...

There is always suspicion when a company sells, builds and finances anything; no checks and balances. No renovations or new builds should be done without inspections; LGI is not interested in rural development, but to avoid inspections.

Any other lender would not advance funds for next building step without their own inspection. Buyer be aware, if it sounds too good to be true it probably isn’t.

My friend bought one of these properties for over 200k last month and electrical issues are being noticed. USDA is excellent program that all that’s needed is to find a lender administering the government funds, find an approved area and a reputable builder.

THANK YOU!!!! We are looking to buy in manor, and wondered why these houses were so affordable.

Zillow listings have bow been updated to include allowances for structural issues in practically new homes.

Some are being sold after the owners living in them less than 2 years. Who can we trust as a builder??

More times than not, a realtor will have run your credit before showing you property to ensure you can write an offer and afford the home you are searching for. LGI skips that process for a reason.

For the quality of the home, the prices are inflated. Look at the "Upgrades" one by one. Its cheap ceramic tile.

The landscaping was set on a 400.00 budget, and the cabinets are basic, but with a dark finish. When the market changes, there will be no equity in the quality of homes they build.

Agreed. Feel that giving "ernest" money to help move along the purchase process is one thing, but, that is still the customers hard earned money, getting it returned should not be an issue.

To start off, I did not have to pay the $500 before viewing the home. We made a commitment that we specifically wanted a particular floor plan such as the Blanco, Maple, Sabine, etc., and then paid the $500. The people on here cannot spell and do not know how to type...
